Terms of use

Mehfil is an online marketplace that connects people planning events ("clients") with performers and their managers ("artists"). We are not the performer. Each performance is an agreement between the client and the artist, set out in the artist's quote.

Accounts

• You sign in with an Indian mobile number. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• You must be 18 or older to book or to list an act.
• Artists must give accurate information about their act, prices and availability, and must be legally able to perform and receive payments.

Quotes and bookings

• A quote states the price, what's included, the deposit, its validity and a cancellation policy. Accepting a quote and paying the deposit forms the booking.
• The client pays a booking protection fee of 3% of the artist's price. The artist pays Mehfil a commission of 10%, deducted from the payout.
• The balance is due before the event. Payments are held by Mehfil through our payment partner and released to the artist after the performance.
• If the client doesn't confirm or dispute the performance within 2 days after the event, the booking is marked complete and the payout is released.

Staying on the platform

Contact details are shared once a booking is confirmed. Arranging or paying for a booking outside Mehfil after meeting here isn't allowed and isn't covered by refunds, disputes or reviews. We may suspend accounts that do this repeatedly.

Reviews

Only clients with a completed booking can review an artist. Reviews must be honest and about the performance. We remove reviews that are abusive, fake or include personal information.

Disputes

Either side can raise a dispute before the payout is sent. We hold the payout, hear both sides and decide on a full, partial or no refund. Our decision on platform funds is final, without affecting your rights under law.

Liability

We check artist profiles but can't guarantee any performance. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any booking is limited to the fees Mehfil received for it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes and law

We'll tell you about important changes before they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in Mumbai have jurisdiction.
